Following Autumn, The Moonlit Season

The shattered pieces lay around me;
Fragments of trees falling in with the breeze,
As though the very stars themselves are calling out for
The frosty breath of life
Tonight's shadow, moonlit, a dim, red, and glowing purple flicker
Over head the rolling clouds growing bigger
The trees around us  suggesting their presence, it looks like the rain will come
And the lake nothing more than a dent in the ground
It, pressing against my knees as I knelt down...
There was a place for the curious and the lost and found
Old friends, childhood memories?
The clock keeps on ticking away at the seconds,
Is that fragrant tone of acceptance, eternity?
The changing leaves, like the moment itself, passes us by...
Certainly, to beckon the earth to cast away its clouds...
To reveal the stars lying across a frosty covered ground
Clothed with cooler pale twinkles...
Sparkles glowing like marbles spilled across a wooden floor
I think it was autumn in the park pool,
Our caterpillar on a leaf in a puddle rowing to shore...
Like a stow-a-way, like a miracle,
Like a thief running to capture the stolen daylight...
Running to chase after
Knocks on the door in the night
